He is an active saxophonist, keyboardist, producer, and music educator in the Philadelphia area. With a B.M. in Saxophone Performance and an M.M. in Jazz Studies from the University of the Arts, Mervin has gone on to perform solo as well as with a wide array of poets, singers, rappers, and spoken word artists. You can often find him playing at different venues in the city, including SOUTH Jazz Kitchen, Chris’s Jazz Cafe, JG Skyhigh, The Free Library, and Paris Bistro.
