Hello, 

As I hope you have heard, Representative DeLissio will host her free
annual Senior Expo from 9 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Sept. 30 during the
Roxborough Hospital Good Neighbor Day being held at 5800 Ridge Ave.  

The expo will be under the tent in the lot off Rector Street. This is a
rain or shine event. 

She will continue to offer a diverse group of exhibitors at the expo to
acknowledge the varied interests and needs of our older citizens. 

Folks will be introduced to organizations providing lifelong learning
and volunteer opportunities, and interesting ways to stay or become
engaged with the community in which we live, work and play. 

In the past, representatives from a number of the local civic
associations ( there are 14 in the district ) have signed up for an
hour's shift with the goal of informing folks of the benefits of
becoming a member of their local civic if they are not already, and to
help them know which civic is theirs, and even assist in helping them
become a member on the spot - no matter what civic they would be
joining!  Our office has paper memberships forms for almost all civics
and will provide them on the table for you. 

Currently I only have one representative from one civic who has
volunteered to share a table.  If anyone can spare an hour, please let
me know and if you have a preference on which hour, I am hopeful I can
make that work.  If no preference, I will simply assign you an hour and
then you can trade amongst yourselves if need be. : ) 

If you have not attended before, it is a great event, and certainly one
where we can help one another gain membership.  

Hoping to see the Civic Associations represented at the Senior Expo on
9/30 from 9 a.m. to noon!
