Water: The Manayunk Canal 1819-2019 Speakers from the Philadelphia
Water Department, Fairmount Water Works, and Manayunk Bicentennial
Citation from Harrisburg, from Pam Delisso's office Attendees receive a
12-page commemorative booklet, Fairmount and the Manayunk Canal
1819-2019: Two Hundred Years of Confluence

Wednesday March 13 7:45 PM - Informal celebrating, Happy Hour prices at
Manayunk Brewing Company (show your booklet to get the discount)

Saturday March 16, 10 AM, Lock-to-Lock 5K Fun Run with the Manayunk
Beer Runners. Saturday March 16, 9:15 AM and 11:15 AM, Insider Tours by
FWW guides of Lock 69/70 and the canal area (20 minutes) For either
activity, meet at Venice Island in front of the Pumping Station, near
Lock Street Bridge   

2019 Bicentennial Events at the Fairmount Water Works:
March 17-June 9 - EXHIBIT: Fairmount and the Manayunk Canal, 1919-2019:
Two Hundred Years of Confluence – includes hand-painted maps done in
1827 by Schuylkill Navigation Company engineer T.H. Gill, and historic
photographs of the Fairmount and Manayunk Canals May 2, 2019 -
Abandoned Inland Canals Video Presentation and reception May 4, 2019 -
Insider Tour at Low Tide to look at the exposed stonework ruins of the
Fairmount Canal
